i am still a superchick

YEAHHH!!!

This is a silly little self-portrait of myself during my high school days! These were the years when I began to realize that it's okay to have fun and be weird and wear whatever you want. And nothing helped me learn that more than the music of Superchick. From about age 16, I longed for nothing more than to learn to play guitar, form an awesome chick-rock band with my friends, and have the best outfits to wear onstage ever.

Listening to it now, their songs are really cheesy and quite sentimental and even sort of trite sometimes, but still TOTALLY WONDERFUL. I still put this band on whenever I need a big ol' self-esteem/motivation boost, because a superchick can do anything, obviously.

Here are some facts:
-I owned those pants.
-They were sparkly.
-I also had them in black.
-I owned those shoes.
-I still have them.
-I need to wear them way more often.

Anyway! If you are a teenage girl you should listen to this band! Boys can listen too. And grown-ups! Then YOU will be a superchick too!!!
