Mr. and Mrs. Chrestomanci by Kecky Mr. and Mrs. Chrestomanci by Kecky
I drew a grown-up-but-still-young Christopher and Millie because I love them and their relationship so much!!! :date: Charmed Life is pretty firmly Edwardian in my mind, which then lets The Lives of Christopher Chant fall neatly into an 1870's-ish time period, therefore conveniently allowing Mamma Chant to wear all the giant bustles she could wish for. Which is quite a few. Am I thinking about all this too hard?? Absolutely not.

Anyway, I took ZILLIONS of screenshots while I was working on this, with the intent of making a Photoshop coloring tutorial, so if I get around to putting them together you should see that here soon too!!!

Ohhhh this is absolutely darling!!!! <33333 Millie and Christopher!!! (haha Can't get enough of them, you've really nailed it!!)
Someone's already mentioned that Millie wouldn't have such a svelte figure, but you know what? She is still 100% Millie so never mind :D

Thank you so much!!! I'm just going to say that she went through a slim phase as a young woman that ended when she had the kids. :giggle:

I like these depictions of them; especially Chrestomanci.

I hope you don't mind my mentioning the one problem I have with it: Millie is rather slimmer than she ought to be.

I don't mind! Do you mean anatomically, or character-wise? I gave her a teeny waist because it's part of the silhouette of the time period I was going for, and I don't think it ever specifically says otherwise in the book? I know her kids are plump and she has a round face (also possibly described as plump?). Unless you just meant that I overdid the caricature and she looks freakish, in which case I can't argue!

Haha, no, I like the style and the caricature! But yes, I believe she's supposed to be rather plump; it carried on rather from when she was younger, I think. That is my point! I would love to see a plumper Millie!

Ahh well all right, I'll make sure the next time I read Charmed Life! But for now I'm going to say that she slimmed down when she grew up, but just plumped up again after she had the kids. ;)

I just read the two books for the 2nd time. Charmed Life is one of my top favorite fantasy books. :)

I like the palette you choose.

likin' the kind of "sharp" style (and by that I mean clean and defined, not pointy)
