This was drawn for Drawmachine, which is a weekly challenge thing I've been doing with a bunch of my friends from school this summer. We didn't know what we'd do with ourselves without homework, so every week we get a theme to draw to, and then everybody's work gets posted on the group tumblr.

A few weeks ago, the theme was alternate universe self portraits - what would you be doing if you hadn't gone to art school?

Fun fact: I seriously considered going to school for linguistics instead of art. Here is an illustration of that offshoot timeline, where I have recently published my wildly-successful epic first novel and am just sitting down to start work on the sequel. Since I never worked at Disney, I’ve been allowed to dye my hair all sorts of fun colors, and I guess I can afford more cute clothes since I don’t have art school student loans or something?
